“If you build it, they will come.”
Joel Blount, Jr., Co-Owner | Business Operations
I take great interest in ensuring our counseling practice maintains an effective business model. When Angela and I decided to start a private practice, we did not go into the process lightly. We thought about our unique skills and how we could help people while operating a unique, structured, and efficient business. As a mental health proponent and graduate of The Sybil C. Mobley School of Business & Industry at Florida A&M University, I eagerly took on the challenge of starting a counseling practice utilizing my education, skills, and knowledge learned through lived experiences and being an SBI graduate.
I have a passion for academics, leadership, and community service. Following my undergraduate degree, I became a certified credit counselor. I helped many community members learn the importance of financial literacy, which led to their increased awareness and self-management of finances and professional goals. Adding to my professional experience includes traveling the country and presenting at numerous high schools, college fairs, and community events as a recruiter inspiring disadvantaged and minority youth to consider higher education as an option for their future.
I manage three businesses and serve as the team lead for the student success and recruitment initiatives in the School of Environment at Florida A&M University. My passions include cooking, fishing, traveling, and watching Lifetime movies with Angela. Hey, sometimes life is about compromise. Thank you for choosing us to help you through your healing journey.
